BIO & EDUCATION
Numerous positive experiences in high school motivated me to a post-secondary honours degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education at Brock University where I later completed a Bachelor Degree in Education. Upon graduation, I immediately took a full-time teaching job in Northwest Calgary. Over the past eight years, I have taught high school Physical Education, Sports Performance. I am also the head coach of the Bearspaw Barbell strength program. Each year hundreds of youth athletes come through my weight room, I remember all of their names, I know their cues and I push them out of their comfort zone. With their hard work and my leadership, they accomplish things they never thought possible.

Outside of the classroom, I was one of the highest-rated personal trainers in the Calgary YMCA where I coached dozens of amazing clients with a wide variety of fitness goals. Recently, I’ve spoken at strength and conditioning seminars hosted by the YMCA and the Alberta Teachers Association where I’ve enjoyed contributing to the professional development of my colleagues and influencing fitness at the high school level. In 2018 I completed a Masters of Education diploma through the University of Calgary.
